ALMO : Arms Length Management Organisation, a not for profit company set up by the council to manage and improve their housing stock. Although an ALMO is a company wholly owned by LCC, it is an autonomous self-governing organisation. Each ALMO has a board of directors, which includes tenants, local authority nominees and independent members. The organisation operates under the terms of a management agreement between the council and the ALMO.
Area Committee : Councillors from several wards sit on this committee to decided priorities for local funding. Otley & Yeadon is part of the North West Outer Area Commitee along with Adel & Wharfedale, Guiseley & Rawdon and Horsforth Wards.
ASB: Anti Social Behaviour
CASAC: Commnity Action & Support Against Crime
LCC : Leeds City Council
MICE Money : Members Improvements in the Community and the Environment, money available to councillors to help fund small projects and local events. It is used for one off fevents and not core funding.
NHW: Neighbourhood Watch
NPT: Neighbourhood Policing Team
